Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Arusha to Lake Manyara for game drives

Pick up at 8:30 AM from your hotel in Arusha and depart for Lake Manyara National Park with a picnic lunch for a full-day game drive. As you enter the national park, lush forests of Acacia and Mahogany trees set the mood for what is ahead. The game drive will continue until evening, with a short break for a picnic lunch. During the game drive, watch out for buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, baboons, and blue monkeys. Another spectacle in Lake Manyara National Park is the tree-climbing lions; however, spotting them is a matter of luck. In the right season, you can see the shoreline turn pink with millions of flamingos flocking there, although in the last few years their numbers have seen a significant decline. After the game drive, you will head back to your lodge in Karatu, where a delicious dinner awaits you.

Day 2 – Karatu to Ngorongoro Crater tour (5 hours) in the morning and transfer to Central Serengeti for afternoon game drives

After an early breakfast, we depart from Karatu and drive towards Ngorongoro Crater. This will take about 1.5 hours. Then, we descend to the crater floor for a game drive(5 hours). You can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, Hippos, Flamingos, Jackals, antelopes, and many birds. The birds seen here include eagle, vulture, and flamingos in the Crater Lake, stork, bats, giant vulture, sacred ibis, kori bustard, blacksmith plover, long-necked heron, and the cattle eagle. We will have a picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, and then continue with game drives as you begin a steep ascent to the crater’s top exit. Leaving the Ngorongoro highlands and then dry plains behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park by afternoon – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as Seronera, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. The Seronera River, a valuable water source, attracts wildlife representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. We continue with game drives throughout the day in the central region of Serengeti National Park. Our accommodation tonight will be in Central Serengeti.

Day 3 – Central Serengeti full-day game drives

After breakfast, you will have a full day of game drives in Central Serengeti. Optionally, you can take morning and afternoon game drives, relaxing at your accommodation in between. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation in Central Serengeti.

Day 4 – Morning game drives in Central Serengeti to Karatu

After an early breakfast, you will have morning game drives in Central Serengeti. After that, we depart from Serengeti via the beautiful Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After a 4.7 to 5-hour drive, reach your accommodation in Karatu at the end of the day. A freshly made, delicious dinner is kept ready for you at your chosen accommodation. All these days of the safari will have you quite tired, and a good rest is essential. The next day, you will begin the last leg of your safari.

Day 5 – Tarangire game drives and transfer to Arusha

Your safari adventure wraps up today with a delightful breakfast around 7:00 AM You’ll journey to Tarangire National Park, just about 2 hours from Karatu, where you’ll enjoy exciting game drives until roughly 3:30 PM This stunning park, Tanzania’s third largest, is famous for its towering baobab trees that create a unique landscape, making the animals beneath them even more impressive. The Tarangire River, the park’s heart, is renowned for hosting some of Africa’s biggest herds of elephants. During your visit, you might also spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, lesser kudu, buffalo, Oryx, elands, giraffes, and zebras.
